K Drive Greenhouse

Reports to the Retail Manager. There are two positions available in the Retail Store – Cashier and Floor Assistant – both are crucial to the success of our retail business.

Cashiers are responsible for assisting guests with their purchases in the sales area. They must stay informed on sales and information, stock hardgoods in the point of purchase area, retrieve and organize shopping carts, handle customer transactions, and keep their cash register area clean and orderly.

Floor Assistants are responsible for greeting the customers as they shop in the retail store, as well as assisting customers in retrieving hanging baskets, cleaning plants and display areas, stocking the retail store with new product as it becomes available, and informing guests of sales and promotions.

Both Cashiers and Floor Assistants are expected to possess basic written and verbal communication skills, reading and math skills, flexibility to reach and lift up to 15 pounds, and stand for a minimum of 6 hours with breaks.

Reports to the Shipping Manager. A seasonal role, typically mid-April through May.

Responsibilities include removing dry leaves from each plant, making sure pots are not broken, placing pots on racks or shelves, and moving completed racks to the shipping area. Requires basic written and verbal communication skills, basic reading ability and math skills, ability to bend/reach/pull/push/squat, lift 50 pounds or more, standing and active for eight hours or more with breaks.

Reports to Shipping Manager. A seasonal role, typically mid-April through May.

The shipping team plays a crucial role at K Drive Greenhouse. They perform several tasks that contribute directly to order fulfillment. These tasks can include locating, pulling, and labelling plant orders as outlined on order sheets.

Responsibilities can include, but are not limited to, reading the order sheet, locating and identifying plants in the greenhouse, understanding the various containers, labels, and locations of plants in the greenhouse, loading the correct quantity, variety, and container type of each plant on the order, and adjusting inventory shelves as needed. Loading shipping carts and organizing them for shipment. Cleaning and organizing returned shipping carts. Setting retail store inventory as needed. This role requires basic written and verbal communication skills, math and reading ability, the ability to bend/reach/pull/push/squat and lift 50 pounds or more, as well as standing and moving for a minimum of 8 hours each day with breaks.

Reports to the Planting Manager. A seasonal role, typically March through April.

The transplanting team performs several crucial tasks that contribute to inventory – including planting, tagging, setting flats, as well as reading and completing planting instruction sheets. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, locating plant plugs, planting the correct number of plugs per flat, tagging each flat or pot, labeling, cleaning work area, lifting and removing empty pallets. This role requires basic written and verbal communication skills, math and reading ability, the ability to bend/reach/squat, lift up to 30 pounds, and stand for a minimum of 8 hours with breaks.
